1. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)

IIT Hyderabad is part of history in the making. We, the faculty, students and staff are creating a new institute, an institute, which in due course of time will make an indelible mark in education and research. Though we are young, we have a great vision, agility, commitment and energy to create an innovative education and research environment that will be the envy of all. Through our deeds we shall be the catalysts for change in our local environs as well as the rest of India and the world. In a very short time, just about a year, IIT Hyderabad has made significant strides. IIT Hyderabad admitted the first batch of 111 B.Tech. students, and started functioning on August 20, 2008. Three departments, CSE, EE & ME were initiated.


2. St. Francis College

Bartholomea Capitanio, dynamic and gifted young girl, founded the congregation of the Sisters of Charity in Italy in 1832. With Vincenza Gerosa as the co-foundress, she consecrated herself wholly to God. In response to His call, Bartholomea and Vincenza wished to be visible instruments of the mercy and love of Jesus Christ, and to serve God’s people everywhere, especially in places where environments of extreme material and moral distress, where service was greatly needed. Bartholomea responded to the needs of the people of her village and its neighboring towns by establishing schools, hospitals and youth clubs. She dedicated herself to a life of service.


3. Nizam Colleg



Established in 1887 by the amalgamation of Hyderabad School and the Madarsa-i-Aliya, Nizam College is one of the oldest and most esteemed institutions of higher education in South India. It was affiliated to the University of Madras for 60 years after its inception, and was made a Constituent College of Osmania University on 19th February 1947.Nizam College offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce and Sciences in addition to professional courses such as MBA, MCA, M.Sc.(IS) and BCA. 4. A.V. College


The A.V. College was established in the year 1968 as a composite college offering plus two and UG courses. It grew to occupy the status of a multidimensional institution with PG courses. The PG courses were first offered in the year 1991. K.V. Ranga Reddy Law College was set up in the same year. Sri Konda Venkata Ranga Reddy (Former Deputy Chief Minister), Sri Madapati Hanumantha Rao and Sri J.V. Narsing Rao (Former Deputy Chief Minister) who took part in the Freedom Struggle, Women’s Education Movement, Library Movement and Press Movement were instrumental in founding this great educational society. It was the dream of the founding fathers to start educational institutions that would impart education in the mother tongue i.e., education in Telugu became a reality with the establishment of Andhra Vidyalaya High School, the first Telugu medium school in the erstwhile Nizam’s Dominion. .


5. Loyola Academy (LA)

Loyola Academy (LA) is managed and administered by the Jesuits of the Andhra Jesuit Province, belonging to the Society of Jesus, an international Catholic Religious Order. Loyola Academy Degree and Post Graduate College as well as Loyola Academy Junior College were founded by Rev Fr T. Baliah SJ in 1976 in Alwal, Secunderabad, Telangana, India. 6. JNTU College of Engineering


The College was established as Nagarjuna Sagar Engineering College in 1965 by the Government of Telangana. When the college was under the administrative control of the Department of Technical Education, it was affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad. With the formation of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University on 2nd October 1972, it became a constituent college of the University and was later renamed as JNTU College of Engineering, Hyderabad. From its inception in 1965 to 1984, the College was located at Masab Tank Campus. In 1984, the College was shifted to its permanent location at Kukatpally, a 100 acres site, about 20 km from the heart of the City, on Bombay National Highway (NH-9). The College has purchased modern and sophisticated equipment worth about 20 crores from the research and development grants received from MHRD, AICTE, DST and TEQIP (A World Bank-aided Project). The college celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1990.



7. IFHE (IBS Hyderabad)

The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education is a Deemed University under Section 3 of UGC Act. 1956, It comprises of IBS Hyderabad (Faculty of Management), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Faculty of Law (FOL).
