If your CD drive is not working or broken you have option to install the Ubuntu using bootable USB drive .

Rufus on your any window pc and run it.
its ask you to set the lable and then click on Icon about to select the ISO Ununtu file from PC. Make sure pen drice minimum size is 2 Gb. After completing the process your Bootable USB is ready to install the Ubuntu into your pc
Just plug the USB and start the PC in the starting process press the
Ctrl+F12 to show the bootable options . Select the USB option and then installation will be start. It will ask you on the first window to select the
Try Ubuntu or Install Ubuntu . if you little bit unfair abou the Unbutu the use the try button and see the functionality from USB drive.
After that if you ready then restart the boot again from USB . At next time select the Install Ubuntu into PC. In the next window enter the city name. After that it will ask you about the Ubuntu username and password for secutiy. Its take very less time to install into PC. Thats it it will show a message about Installation complete and you can now restart the PC.
After that Ubuntu completely installed. You will see left side with icon in wich you able to see free open source excel, word etc software.
GNome Partition Editior
If you see only one partition than wish to make more then you have to use the
Gparted open source software to make partition of your hard disk. Also it will help to data rescue from lost partitions. Also go to Ubuntu software center and install the app gaprted by setting command
sudo apt-get install gparted
